[atlantaprog] Calling all guitarists . . .

. . . or anyone who knows a guitarist who might be able to help:

The guitarist in my band suffered the misfortune of having his house struck
by lightning last Thursday. Along with the lesser electronic casualties of
phones, TVs and the like were the serious casualties of his musical gear,
with the biggest problem being the damage to his VHT Pittbull tube amp.

Although he does have insurance coverage that will cover the cost of needed
repairs/replacements, the VHT poses a unique problem in that the only people
who can "properly" repair it in these circumstances is the factory, in
California, who may take more than three months to turn it around. In other
circumstances, I would repair it myself, but the insurance company does not
regard me as a suitable business (I have been a technician for many a year,
just don't happen to be employed in that capacity now.)

So I am trying to find a substitute amplifier for him to use in the
meantime. The ideal situation would be for me to find someone who owns a
non-functional tube amp (MUST be tube) that might be suitable, in which case
I would offer to trade a repair for the use of the amp. If anyone has a
functional amp they would be willing to rent, that might work also.

The temporary amp will (almost certainly) be used only for practice, so it
does not have to be large. Either heads or combos could work - sound is
paramount, channel-switching would be an extremely desirable addition.

Anybody got anything?
