[atlantaprog] Re: CJ's

I've been subbed to this list for about a month now (thanks for letting me
know about it, Wheat). As is my custom, I lurk until such time as I can
think of something intelligent to say.

...I expect to be rocked! <<

As did I...and I was NOT disappointed.

I walked up to the building just as Limelight was starting, and was left
thinking, "hmm, they're playing Rush on the PA...crud. Must've missed the
first band and this is the in-between-sets music." Then as I walked through
the building, I heard the vocal line start..."waitaminit...that's not
Geddy's voice!" I'm sorry I missed the original-songs part of the Paine's
Promise set, but they nailed the two Rush songs, spot-on.

To an uninitiated listener, Karma Lingo's music is a surprise. The
impression left on me by the first song--refresh my memory, Matthew; what
was its title?--was "this music is taking me nine different places!" A
wide-ranging collection of moods contained therein. And the song "Your Brain
Makes My Body Bop" left me thinking "yep, that's big ol' entertainment!"
Can't remember specifics about the other songs, but I do remember being
quite impressed by the quality of composition of the music.

A hearty "Well Done!!" to the members of both bands, and to the sound guy as
well. Matt, Veronica, thanks for taking the time to chat afterwards.

...I'm really looking forward to next month's Lord Only/SSS gig. I'd also
like to extend a special thanks to John from Lord Only for approaching
Matthew about shifting the date of next month's CJ's gig to a week earlier
so as not to conflict with the Man On Fire/noise.com gig next month at The
Brandyhouse. That is a fine example of the ARIA community really stepping
up to support its own! <<

On b-half of my compadres in noise.com, I'd also like to thank John and
Matthew for working calendar magic, and to MOF's Steve and Jeff for taking
the time to listen to us play last week; I'm very glad we'll be playing
together!
