[atlantaprog] Re: And now that we know the list is still functional...

My bet? They'll reunite for a special show or two, maybe a limited tour. They may cut a few new tracks together but I don't think so... more likely we'll see a few old tracks revisited, much the way Carpet Crawlers was revisited on the second box set. We'll probably see a DVD come out of it.

Probably. I understand that Peter would really want to do it up right--not the old show, but just something *really good*--and that would probably mean more than a few shows. Maybe something like what Pink Floyd did for *The Wall*--half a dozen shows each in London, New York, and Los Angeles--would be workable. (Road trip, anyone?) A drummer I'm playing with suggested maybe they could do a double-headliner show with a reunion set at the end.

I saw the video clip of Phil joining the Musical Box on stage,...I'll bet this experience is what led to his willingness to reunite and ONLY PLAY DRUMS!

And maybe he's realizing that "prog" isn't a four-letter word anymore. ;-)

But yeah--hearing the live *Lamb* on *Archives, Volume 1* really opened my eyes--and I knew he was a great drummer already.

I've heard rumors that Hackett might NOT be part of the reunion... still bad blood after all of these years???

No, not at all. He's in on it, too; after all, he's the one who put out the *Genesis Revisited* record, and he's got the most to gain financially from it (though even he's probably pretty decently set; someone came up with sales figures for the old albums recently, and even those are in the millions). They had November 20 set aside to get together and discuss it, though no one knows what came of it. We'll see.
