[atlantaprog] Re: Albini Column

I've read that a number of times -- and anybody who hasn't needs to,
quick.
It's a great summation of a reality I had already recognized by about
1996. Fills in lots of the details, but the outcome of the "typical
band" is the same as I had learned from observation: total screwage.

It's a few years old, I think. But it's still accurate -- minus the
"digital rights" elements that exist nowadays.

This, plus the immortal words of GbV's Bob Pollard* really pushed me
over the cliff in deciding against a career in music (assuming it would
have been possible anyway). I figured I'd do whatever I needed to on my
own, and those were my limits.

fuckin' songs, and you make a fuckin' record."
