Time to add my 2 coppers on the showcase...

Word on the street indicates that the first night was
a success! Now, can we keep the momentum going?

Many thanks to Matthew Trautwein for making all the
effort to get this thing going!

Thanks to both Karma Lingo and Paine's Promise for the
  great sets!

Thanks to all of YOU who were able to come out! I
hope that you ahd a great time and will do it
again...! Tell all your friends and even your enemies
about it...I don't care as long as they like prog!
  ;-)

Lastly, a BIG thank-you to Dave, Daniel and especially
Veronica of Paine's Promise...Veronica had emailed me
a couple of weeks before and asked me if I wanted to
join them onstage for a song...and it was a blast! I
hope that it wasn't too grating on your ears...but
after all, it WAS a Rush song ("Red Barchetta" for
those of you who missed the show), and we all know how
Geddy Lee can sound...! ;-) Anyway, I didn't want to
crowd Veronica out so I remained at center stage...the
problem was that the only vocal monitor was right in
front of her, so I ended up not hearing a thing...!
Personally, I thought it was terrible...but I always
think that when I cannot hear it for myself!

Matthew Trautwein was kind enough to snap a few pics
of my singing so that my nearest and dearest could
see...I plan on posting a couple on my homepage
  soon... http://www.geocities.com/wkargel

I took a number of good hi-res pics of both bands, and
I will get them out as soon as they are edited.

Only ONE person actually told me that he/she
recognized what version of "Red Barchetts" I
sang...hats of to John Christopher, bass player for
Noise.com...! I sang the James LaBrie (of Dream
Theater fame) version from the Magna Carta Rush
tribute CD. An excellent rendition if you have never
  heard it!

Oh, and a thank you to all of you who were kind enough
to compliment me on my performace after the fact...and
especially to those who asked about how Me, Bridget
and Baby-to-be are doing (just fine so far...keep
  those fingers crossed)!

I will be back at CJ's in November with the rest of
  you...let's keep this going!

  Cheers,

  Bill
