[atlantaprog] Re: ARIA Showcase!!!!!

Allen this is great news, great job Sean.
With the recent closing of 9 Lives, the Masquerade closing and moving to
another location I was concerned if there would be places bands could
play around town. I think the Brandyhouse is a great place to play and
host the show.
I came across a recent article from Creative Loafing that was a bit
surprising to me as I learned a few things. In the article I learned
that The Cotton Club is not booking anymore acts and only going to offer
special/private events and the shows that would be for the venue will be
moved to the Roxy. I also learned that the Tabernacle/Cotton Club, Roxy
and I'm sure a few other places are owned by Clear Channel which I had
no idea of. Other clubs are opening in Underground Atlanta, but I didn't
see any mention of bands playing, but more of a dance club scene.

The story is in the Creative Loafing for this week Nov4th-Nov 10th.
Maybe with Clear Channel closing the Cotton Club another venue can host
the smaller acts (other than the Roxy) and allow for local bands to open
for them.
We can only hope.

Are you ready? Let's try this again...

Brandyhouse has agreed to host a monthly series for us (Thanks Sean
Tonar, for working it out). The resurrected series will begin on
Tuesday, Nov. 23rd, time TBA, with the ARIA premiers of synth duo
TouchXTone and Roguefest show-stoppers Belljar.

As I am sure most of you recall, if you want your band to be included
in the ARIA showcase rotation, you'll need to make sure a least one of
band members attends each show.

Mark your calendars! Be there! Let's make the Brandyhouse BEG for us to
keep doing our series there.
