This Owl had the pleasure of seeing the ever-evolving Noise.com in action last
night (12/22/2004) @ the Brandy House.
In the 10 months since I last saw them, I've noticed some SERIOUS improvements
and a growing confidence onstage. The band is sooo much tighter, confident and
really just starting to find its sound, which I honestly find hard to describe
yet I can say VERY enjoyable. It's fierce, colorful, soulful, crunchy, at times
metallic and very surprising!
My favorites were the 3rd song (need help with titles here Sean!), a vaguely
Crimson-esque number with cool angular guitar figures, and the two numbers with
both Bill Graham (courtesy of Unbounded Sky) and Becky Cormier (formerly of
Karma Lingo) doing some ear-grabbing twisty dual-flute passages, and Bill
lending his keyboard artistry as well (gotta love that Moog! ). That song that
opened with the angry fuzz-bass was pretty cool too!
A good time had by this Owl for certain!
Hoo Hoooo Hoo Hoooooo
Phil
