Happy holidays, everybody!
For the second year in a row, I have written the liner notes for a
compilation album of new orchestral Christmas music from around the
world. And the album is available free for listening in your Web
browser or downloading as MP3s.
A Garritan Community Christmas, Volume 3 is a compilation of
outstanding works by 18 different composers. You can hear it, and
download individual tracks, at
http://www.garritan.com/Xmas.html
Pieces on the album are new arrangements of Christmas classics along
with original compositions. Composers are from the United States,
England, Iceland, Italy, and Slovenia, with songs from all over. The
artists range from professional orchestral composers down to a couple
of music students in their dorm rooms. The arrangements span
symphonic, big band jazz, and rock.
The album is a showcase for the Garritan Libraries family of music
software. You can read more about it on the web site.
I hope you'll take some time this holiday season to listen to A
Garritan Community Christmas and pick up some Christmas cheer.
Sincerely,
Wheat Williams
