G is for Grid, Oracle's new marketing name for RAC.

Just like the "i" for internet in 8i, the idea is to highlight the
technology Oracle is trying to embrace.  Oracle's basic grid vision at
the moment is that by connecting clusters of commodity hardware, you can
build highly scalable systems without spending a fortune on hardware.
