The IP address of the Oracle Server has not changed. The domain on to
which this Oracle server is hooked has changed from NT to 2003 where as
the Oracle Server is a Win2K machine. Since the domain has changed, we
had to changed the domain name in the Oracle server. And once the name
was changed the machine had to be restarted and there after Listener is
not starting which is in automatic mode.
I tried to open the Net8 Configuration assistant, but when I go to the
Listener menu. It is not getting activated. Hence I am not able to debug
the Listener.=20

i think you have not changed IP, hostname of computer etc.. only sid and
gi=3D
d has been changed..just check up..and just check up are not using any
rese=3D
rve words in it..
like other services, listener sevice is there in service control/admin.
check whether it has started or not or there itself is giving the
problem, =3D
is this service in mannual mode or auto..and status is disabled..it
should =3D
be enabled and if mode is mannual, then you have to start mannually
after s=3D
tarting the 2003 server, if its auto then its not required..
and whatif if you configure anoher listener on different port..
svrmgrl can give better idea about listner status..
