This is a job for Contour tool ... which we don't have!!!
so to get round this just create the shapes using a thick red line and
a half thickness grey line on top (rotate original drawing 45degrees
first and only work on a quarter of the image)
to create the illusion of an underlap simple clone a segment of the
red line and cover over grey line where necessary
all lines will be even and time to produce significantly less
