[ARMini-support] USB hubs and switching hubs

Greetings, comrades in ARMs,
I need to buy a USB hub for my Raspberry-Pi which will work with my
BeagleBoard too, possibly at the same time. For the latter, the hub
needs to be a switching hub. I already have a 7-port hub, powered via
transformer from the mains, for my BeagleBoard, but it is not a
switching one. So I am seeking advice for hubs that will work well
with RISC OS and Linux.
First idea is to get a powered (by power pack) 4-port hub (the
Raspberry-Pi doesn't need so many ports as my non-xM BeagleBoard as it
has a network socket and two USB sockets) to work with the
Raspberry-Pi and, possibly, a Pandaboard if I get one.
Second idea is to get a 7-port switching hub, again with power pack,
to use with any two of BeagleBoard, Raspberry-Pi, Iyonix and
PandaBoard.
Most of the ones I see at Farnells, RS-Online or Maplins seem to be
either powered via a USB cable from another computer or powered only
by its data lines, but these development boards need hubs powered from
a source of higher amps.
Are Cerulian hubs any good?
Cheers,
David Lane
