The other thing is that Pipedream may be trying to print "plain text"
rather than using graphical printing as used by other RISC OS apps.
This might be upsetting the applecart. That said, LPRdriver doesn't
usually care. The only time I can imagine this could be significant is
if you're doing BBC-style "VDU2" printing - open port and stream data
out without giving any sense of paper/page etc. Most modern printers
object to that anyway.

I'm sure Andrew is right in suggesting Pipedream is trying to print "plain
text". Pipedream's roots go back to BBC Micro's View Professional when
plain text printing was all there was. Graphic printing came later so you
have to change the Pipedream printer driver to "RISC OS" (<ctrl> PD, click
up or down arrows) and also change the font to something nicer like
Trinity or Homerton as the system font looks absolutely dreadful when
printed with a RISC OS printer driver.
I've been using Pipedream for approx 30 years and have noticed similar
printing difficulties especially with more modern printers.
