... I get an error once the desktop has appeared. This is in a system
error box with "Error" in its window title bar and the text:
EDID checksum is incorrect (block 1 of 1 failed) -
cannot read monitor settings.
I too get this error sometimes on booting up my ArmX6, and I do not
have a KVM switch. Happens about once a week (the machine is switched
on each morning and then runs all day).
Click Cancel on the error box. The keyboard and mouse are frozen;
nothing possible but switchoff. Same thing second time around. Third
time succeeds but have to unplug mouse and replug it to have both
keyboard and mouse working.
In case it's relevant, I have an LED light powered by the front USB
socket. The light always does go on, even when mouse stays dead; in
other words, USB socket always provides power.
This error does not get recorded by Syslog or Wimplog. (I think it
should -- would make it easier for users to report to developers.)
