Hi,
according the documenation tiffgamut should work for CIELAB Tifs.
I have not been successful so far and tried:
1)
tiffgamut -v Lab.icc PantoneHexachrome.tif
Header:
size = 572 bytes
CMM = 'appl'
Version = 2.0.0
Device Class = Color Space
Color Space = Lab
Conn. Space = Lab
Date, Time = 16 Feb 1998, 0:00:00
Platform = Macintosh
Flags = Not Embedded Profile, Use anywhere
Dev. Mnfctr. = 'appl'
Dev. Model = 0x0
Dev. Attrbts = Reflective, Glossy
Rndrng Intnt = Perceptual
Illuminant = 0.964203, 1.000000, 0.824905 [Lab 100.000000, 0.000498,
-0.000436]
Creator = 'appl'
Unknown: Error - Profile isn't a device profile
2)
tiffgamut PantoneHexachrome.tif
-> gives the short help message
Is it possible to create a gamut file for CIELAB Tifs?
As a workaround I converted all 1024 named Pantone colors in a tif
from CIELAB to ProPhoto and checked if a value is 255. One value was,
so it seems that only one color from the Pantone named colors is
on the border or outside ProPhotoRGB.
Best regards
Peter
