Just thinking aloud here - could you side-step the unwanted AtoB table behaviour by using targen / fakeread / profile to create your own ISOCoated-equivalent profile using Argyll?
This is no a practicable option because the workflow honors embedded profiles in TIFs and PDF/X files (and uses default profiles for untagged content). ISO Coated v2 and v1 are predominantly. I guess less then 20% of the data is tagged with non-ECI-Profiles.
