[argyllcms] libXss.so.1 not found

I installed argyllcms on an Ubuntu box. When I type dispcal in the
terminal window I get following error:

dispcal: error while loading shared libraries: libXss.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

libXss.so.1 is installed under /usr/lib.

How can I make dispcal find libXss.so.1?
