About the ads, well that' linuxcompatible... Nobody ever claimed
the site is good for anything...

LittleCMS is the actual color management engine behind Eye of GNOME...

It's of little direct interest for you...

EOG is probably already compiled against LCMS...

However... you need to set your display profile using xicc...
