All my machines (OS X, Vista, Linux) are using 1.0.1. After testing
each, only this Mac is giving the error and can't process this file
above -qm (and another mac works). This Mac has plenty of free memory.
Other mahines are willing to do -qu, although I would estimate they
will take at least 2 hours each.

Now here is the kicker: on this Mac, running the command in a Windows
XP virtual machine works. (I define works as getting to 1% without
quitting with memory error). I'm guessing an incompatible or
bit-rotten library screwing things up on this Mac? I can't see any
problems in other apps.
