Hi!

Concerning the .tifs that caused the 10 and 4 GB .ti3 files: I am awfully sorry, but I have trashed everything before I started afresh yesterday. In my trash can, I find the 10 and 4 GB .ti3's, and the 2 corrupt diag.tif's, but not the image .tifs :-(

Regrettably the same is true for the .tif that was not recognized and of which I mailed the diag.tif: I can not identify this .tif any more. I have another one which I can identify as having been rejected, but that is more tightly cropped, with the edges of the chart visible though, if by a small margin.

Possible problems: I failed to remove the guidelines I used to rotate in PS (thought these were "view-only").

Concerning the ti.3 that caused the huge deltaE: Here, I erroneously read  the dot as separator for thousands, so the real values are :  peak err = 521.834713, avg err = 246.046169. But that is still way out.

I did not quote the -D string, but used a consecutive string. But yes, I used "+" in the .tif file name. (Is there a list anywhere of characters that must not be used?)

./colprof -v -ACanon -M5D2 -D5D2_938_lin_exp+0,5 -qu -al -y -bn -u -O5D2_938_lin_exp+0,5 5D2_938_lin_HB0_0CM_exp+0,5

./colprof -v -ACanon -M5D2 -D5D2_938_curv_exp+0,5 -qu -al -y -bn -u -O5D2_938_curv_exp+0,5 5D2_938_CanCurv_0CM_exp+0,5

In this case, I have the .ti3 files :-) Since they are only 49 kB, I attach them here.

New experience with the 10 and 4GB .ti3 files: I tried to open them with TextEdit while I had the draft to this post open in TextEdit. When I selected the .ti3 and chose Open With/TextEdit, the draft was highlighted, but no new TextEdit window opened. When I returned to the draft to continue, the pizza wheel kept spinning, and I had to force quit TextEdit. (Mac 10.6.2)

Thank you all for your concern! Hening.
