It is described in Jan Morovic's thesis "To Develop a Universal Gamut
Mapping Algorithm".
IMO there is also source code available here:
http://www.colour.org/tc8-03/pgma.html (I'm not sure it is licensed,
though - I think non-profit and academic only)
