Mathematically this is of course possible, but I'm not aware how one
could do that with Argyll out of the box, w/o making changes to the
code. Possibly you can outwit colprof to some extent by adding a huge
number of data points along the gray axis (R=G=B) to the .ti3 file,
which follow your predefined RGB to Y tone mapping. Then I guess you'll
have a good chance that these points will dominate the shape of the TRC
established by colprof -aS [make sure that all these added neutral
points have the same chromaticity in order that they do not dominate the
matrix as well].
