I tried running printread on another WinXPSP2 box with same results. I even
found an older version of Printread v2.1 and tried it to no avail again. I
remember being successful last year reading color testcharts on the same
computer with printread and my DTP41uv. Currently, the printread version I'm
using is 0.53.
Running printread with the -d option resulted in the following output:
serio: About to set port characteristics
serio: About to open port 'COM2'
serio: port characteristics set ok
serio: About to write '^M'
serio: About to return read '' lerr 0x80
Oops! Right there, there is something wrong: why is printread using COM2
when I specifically instruct it to use COM1 with the argument -c1? This is
the command line I use with printread:
printread -v -d -c1 -i41 filename
That is surely the reason why it is not working.
