I am still a little confused about the rasterizing of the target. Yesterday I downloaded a tryout version of photoshop7 and installed it on my linux box. I have tested it against ghostscript. The results are below. This is a RGB testchart. First line shows the ti2 file for patch A1. % value pixel value 77 "A1" 75.096 93.840 8.2011 gs 75.2941 94.1117 7.84314 192 240 20 8bit tif gs856 75.0958 93.8415 8.2017 191 239 21 16bit png ps7 74.902 93.7255 8.23529 191 239 21 8bit png There are two tests with ghostscript. The first one is with an 8bit driver and the second with a 16bit png driver. The last one is the closest match to the values in the ti2 file. I also think the pixel value of the ghostscript 8bit version is quite interesting. This was my first experience with photoshop. My workflow was quite simple just open and save as png. I have seen the same variance in colors with cmyk targets. Do you think the variance above have any influence on the quality of the resulting profile?
