[argyllcms] Re: How can I tell if I'm using my profile? (and other questions)

Calibration still helps to get neutral grayscales, so in most cases it is a good idea to calibrate not only profile. If you can't know which

Yes - and something to keep in mind is that the calibration adjusts
each tonal curve in a lot more detail than a profile is capable of,
simply because more interactively determined measurement patches
are used for calibration, whereas the test patches for a profile
have to be spread about the 3D color space. A calibrated display
is made to "behave itself", which means the relatively sparsely
sampled profile can more accurately capture it's (now predictable)
behaviour.
