I'm sorry, I forgot to mention this. I did reset the brightness to 100% before 
running spotread.

But still, my results may not be what you wanted, as I neglected to reset the 
RGB gains to 100%.

I have retested with brightness at 100% and separate RGB gains at 100%. This 
gives me
spotread -d
Spot read failed due to misread (Sensor is saturated)

spotread -e
Result is XYZ: 306.560510 325.338492 339.451219,
          D50 Lab: 155.884404 -5.657013 -24.143140

For reference, this monitor is an Eizo FlexScan S2410W.
