So that means it's either a Huey specific issue, or built with Ubuntu
libraries specific issue...


Now that you mention the Huey, yes it fails when tested with
that instrument.

It's a declaration bug in spectro/unixio.c - the error(), warning()
etc. declaration should be removed, and an #include "numlib.h"
added to the file.

This will fix the problem, and dispread will correctly fail
with an "Inappropriate ioctl for device" error.
