Hi,
i think that's not the problem. With the V0.7B8 both versions (32bit and 64bit) are running:
/usr/local/bin.old/dispcal -R -y l
Place instrument on test window.
Hit Esc, ^C or Q to give up, any other key to continue:
Uncalibrated response:
Black level = 0.17 cd/m^2
White level = 133.79 cd/m^2
Aprox. gamma = 1.72
Contrast ratio = 771:1
White chromaticity coordinates 0.3221, 0.3501
White Correlated Color Temperature = 5946K, DE to locus = 11.2
White Correlated Daylight Temperature = 5945K, DE to locus = 8.0
White Visual Color Temperature = 5608K, DE to locus = 10.8
White Visual Daylight Temperature = 5723K, DE to locus = 7.7
The instrument can be removed from the screen.

the card is an cheap ati: 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AP [Radeon 9600]

Looks like your video drivers don't support VideoLUTs, so
they can't support calibration.

Which card and driver are you using ?
