These two libraries were previously a BSD "like" license.
Unfortunedly I did not came around to do any serious colour transformations with Argyll's C interfaces. So here my question. Does your above line mean a MIT covered ArgyllCMM would be possible? 

Not if you want a pixel transformation engine, no. For commercial reasons,
the imdi library will remain GNU licensed for the foreseeable future.
