Hi.
Is there a way to apply a color profile while writing a new *.tiff
file (or whatever format) on disk?
Consider this situation: I am doing GIMP work under Linux/FreeBSD on a
calibrated display. The result will then be printed on a variety of
chains, such as a Windows PC and an inkjet or in commercial printing
places.
I could probably get a color profile into that Windows installation
but there's not much hope for the printing places. I have consistent
problems that the pictures comes out too yellow and brown, not to
mention too dark.
I do have reproduceability, though. I can print an argyllcms chart
and I have a Huey colorimeter to make some readings.
The question is, how do I apply the resulting profile? I thought that
the best way is to prepare a tiff file that has the colors
distorted/corrected using that profile and then just print it the same
way as before.
Is that something that can be done with argyll and/or the GIMP?
Martin
