I do not have a DTP51, but a DTP41.
As far as I can remember, there are no response codes
defined that high (<81>), and as far as I remember I
got such values if something was not right in the serial

Some of the instruments set the top bit to indicate
that there is more than one error in the stack.

The error is probably caused by the baud rate probes.
The clear error routine in V0.6 wasn't very good,
and didn't wait for a reply, causing further problems.
