Hi,

I'm not clear - are these two Argyll profiles, or something else ?
Those two are standard press profiles downloaded from the web. The
ISOuncoated one is part of the ECI profiles package. They're both CMYK
though, so again they're probably not a great comparison.
Is there anything I could tweak to weight Argyll's strategy more
I guess I'm a little confused then. You were referring to absolute
colorimeter,
and there's nothing much to tweak there - you get clipping to the
closest color.
Yes, I'm talking about Absolute Colorimetric. I was under the
impression that luminance errors are generally considered more
objectionable than saturation errors. Maybe I was mistaken?
I guess, since no-one seems to think that the plain-paper result I got
was unexpected that my expectations were unrealistic.
Speaking of Perceptual intent, though, all three Argyll profiles perform
remarkably well in that regard - even the plain paper one, within the
limitations of the poor black density.
All the best,
