The 'bug' seems to be that profiles created with the dispcal -o option show dark, overly saturated pictures in color managed progams such as bibble, cinepaint, gimp 2.4. To me the pictures appear is if an extra layer in 'overlay' mode is applied. The pictures provided by Luud in this thread seem to me to be good examples of this.
