No, it's the other way round - it works on all machines but you have to
disable the automatic power-off to see the effects.

If Windows is able to pull the plug on your machine this means that it
has access to the Power Management interface of the BIOS. Go to the BIOS
setup and disable everything that sounds like APM, ACPI or Power
Management. If this does not help - bad luck. You may have success if
you go to the Windows setup and disable support for those functions
there, but IIRC, Windows still finds a way to pull the plug if the
interface is active even if it does not use any of the other power
management functions.
