Hey Udo,
I don't need the source code, I just prefer OpenSource
for a number of reasons. Lots of eyes picking thru the
code to find holes for potential exploits, provides
more security than "security through obsolecence" or
"security through obscurity". When you have companies
like Sony and Micro$oft stealing other peoples code and
hiding it in closed source, it makes it easy for them
to have things like backdoors and rootkits that they
won't tell you about until some super high level high
IQ brain stumbles on to it. Plus too much closed source
software is just product made to make money. I'd rather
use the output from an artist perfecting his craft, just
for the sake of perfecting his craft. I think they
produce better software than some Joe in a cubicle somewhere
who gets no credit for his work. It just gets thrown in
with the output from the other cubicles. I guess it boils
down to, OpenSource is community driven, closed source
quite often is ego and greed driven.
BTW I'm using XMSDSK now, it was in the fu_rd package.
It seems to be working quite well. I used to use vdisk
from DrDOS, and XMSDSK seems to work at least as well
as that. Thanx for the reply.

Hey All,
Can anyone recommend a good ramdisk for DOS?

I use XMSDSK which suits my needs well.

Preferably a
Free OpenSource one, with a GPL, MIT, BSD or CC type license?
Rob

Why do you need the source code of a RAM disk driver, do you want to
write your own?

If you are interested in the source code rather than the program
itself, there are numerous code snippets on the 'Net.

Udo
