[arachne] Re: problem connecting with fast PC

Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!

Ken,
I reported a similar problem a few months ago. I tried to install
Arachne (various versions) on my sister's AMD K6-450 when
I visited her last year, without success. I could establish a
PPP link using LSPPP (IIRC, DOSPPPD also worked), but
Arachne refused to do anything, there was furious activity in
the xChaos icon displayed in the corner, but no comm's.

I have also observed that crashes and other misbehaviour by
Arachne at some web sites seems to occur more readily on my
586-200 than my 486-66, although I haven't done a systematic
comparison. It would be interesting for people that have such
problems with Arachne to see if they still have these problems
when using a 486 ...

Joe.
