At one time or another I have used FreeDos on all
three that I'm using now. The K6 has only had ver1.0
tho. The HP Pavilion has had earlier versions and 1.0.
The Dell only earlier versions. When I got the K6, I
tried Opendos7.01, DrDos7.03, and M$6.22. Problems
with all of them. I thought maybe it was bad memory but
swapping around RAM sticks didn't help. It also doesn't
like the ReiserFS in Linux, really weird problems there,
but ext2 and ext3 work fine along with BSD FFS and UFS.
I've had problems with svgalib on it too. I never
documented anything that happened, I just remember it
doing weird quirky things, but it's been running OpenBSD
for two or three years with no problems. I switched to
using this box with DOS hoping the floppy drive worked
but I think I'm going to put a newer version of OpenBSD
back on it and use DOS on the Pavilion. I have noticed
tho that using a Linux, NetBSD or OpenBSD MBR on it with
Freedos, it recognizes all 20 gigs of hardrive. With a
DOS MBR only 3078 Megs. I wish DOS could recognize more
I seem to collect lots of audio and video files.

Hey Roberto,
Turbodisk is what I was using, but I was having stability
problems. I don't know if it's cuz I'm using FreeDOS or
the AMD K6 I'm running DOS on. I've had some peculiar
problems with some software on that box, that just doesn't
happen on my other ones.
Thanx Rob
Are the boxes without said problems also runnning Freedos ?
