So, if I might paraphrase what you said,
This type of redirection is normal for
this Arachne list.   And...although such
redirection is recognised as an illegal 
attachment...it is tolerated by this list.
However,  it may not be considered
normal nor tolerated on some other 
list.

Do I interpret the thread redirection rule
correctly and normally ??   :-}
