Jason,
From reading your reply I can see
you don't care if your power supply burns
up because the fan stopped working while
you were making coffee. You would rather
have the coffee than your power supply.
You will just go buy a new one. That's
your option, but it seems a foolish way
to operate to me.
I also caught a virus from a floppy disk my
good friend gave me way back when AV
software wasn't the norm. The virus came
from a renowned hospital's computer
system and they were not aware of it.
They were informed about the virus because
I was watching my boot sequence and saw
the virus load. Evidently you don't seem to
realize that viruses, especially boot viruses,
like to give you a little message saying,
"You've just been screwed" as they infect
your HDD.
I also listen to my car engine when I start it so
I can identify any strange sounds and I walk
around my car before I start it and I check
the tires to see if they are going flat and I look
under my car to see if any brake fluid or oil or
antifreeze is leaking on the ground. I like to do
all that before I get on the expressway.
BTW, I probably drink 10 times as much coffee
as you do and I'm usually doing it while I watch
my computer boot. I drink 10 times as much coffee
as anyone else I know. I always have a coffee cup
filled with coffee in my hand.
So, watching my computer boot doesn't detract
from my coffee drinking. :-}}}
Oh, And I don't have to balance my check book
at the end of the month because I monitor my accounts
by telephone and Internet on an almost daily basis.
I catch any abnormalities before I ever get my
monthly bank statement.
And most of my checks I write for a whole dollar
amount so I can pretty much ignore the cents column.
