No, Glenn, I definitely was writing it with the internal editor.
I don't get into the external editor unless I click on the
[External Editor] button below the text window.
Give me some credit, Glenn. I _do_ know the difference.
I usually try doing my replies with the internal editor as it is
one less step than calling the external editor. Then if I need to
do reformatting or pasting in a block from another file, or
something like that that the internal one doesn't handle, I'll go
to the external editor.

No.

I don't think so, at least not until one of the buttons is
clicked.
The Arachne directory is on my hard disk, and I don't hear _ANY_
disk activity while I'm typing in the text window, until I click
on one of the buttons below the text window.
Possibly it may save the stuff to a file in the TEMP subdirectory
which is on the RAMdisk. I can't comment about that as such an
activity is silent.

QEDIT has never given me any problems, except when editing _VERY_
large files of 300k or so.

I've tried both of them. NE just didn't seem to suit me, apart
from its limitation on file size, and MS Edit doesn't do wordwrap
or multiple windows, which I consider as essential features.
