So you have had Arachne crash immediately after ScanDisk had passed all
files as intact? And I mean IMMEDIATELY after, when there was no
possibility of any other operations damaging the files in the meantime?

As indeed would also be the case if the CAUSE of the crash was a damaged
file or two.

As long as you're sure that ScanDisk will always be able to repair the
damaged files, why bother indeed?
And there I was thinking you had a problem, and were looking for a
solution to it!
