Since I have had no trouble with those fields, but only with the text in
the text editing window (apart from one notable case) then maybe the
problem is only related to editing text in the text window.
If we could arrange for the internal editor to handle the other fields,
but leave the body text strictly to the external editor, then maybe that
would fix the problem as a stopgap measure.
OTOH maybe it wouldn't. But would it be worth trying? I don't know
enough about how the ediotr works to be able to comment on that.
