It's a thought. Yes, DOSKEY is additicting, but I could do
without it for a while.

OTOH how long should the test run? I have had periods of several
weeks without any troubles from the editor, then it will crop up
again.

Damn it all! This problem is so inconsistent! If only it would
come on and stay on so I could chase it down.

This is just a thought, on a completely different tack... I have
noticed while typing in the internal editor window that when I
wrap from the last line on the screen, the new text appears
immediately in the new line at the bottom of the screen but I get
duplicates of the line above or sometimes the one above that for
about a second or so until the screen re-adjusts.

On a 33MHz 486, this is a *V*E*R*Y* long time. No other editor I
have seen is as slow. Even on my old 286 it was always much
faster that this.

I suspect, but I've never been able to verify it, that there are
more errors if I page-up or page-down or scroll with the
scrollbar BEFORE the screen has settled.

I can't imagine what could be going on in the background of the
editor that would take so long.
