The place to bring this sort of issue up is on the developers list or
board. As the saying goes, everyone has an opinion, but not everyone
knows what they're talking about. As the fella who tackled this job,
I asked for feedback when I started, but got none. Now I am getting
feedback and welcome it, but only from people who are informed of what
the actual issues are and who are also prepared to work on the code
themselves (no back seat driving please). For the record, the
deletions I've made involve shortening perhaps 0.01% of the comments,
and the deletion of huge blocks of dead code, but in such a way that
they can be re-inserted in a matter of seconds, should it be necessary.
As I said, I welcome the opinion of those prepared to lend a hand with
the code.
