CJ,
I am currently testing a DOS text mode only news app...reads and
posts messages both!  This one is a brand new one too, so it isn't
"smooth", but so far hasn't crashed anything.  No mouse/pointer 
is used, only TAB and ENTER keys (the author is using a stick to
press keys).  It also does email via POP3 and SMTP, and the file
format is Arachne compatible (mes,cnm,snt,tbs etc).  Very early
at the moment...
