Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!
Gregy,
From what I have "assumed" in reading the documentation and help
files with NuPop, Authenticated SMTP is a very real possibility!
There are options to send your password in transparent text, or
one character at a time, etc., for authentication. So, if I can
decide to try it with my Softhome server, and manage to send as
well as receive, I'll let the groups know. It could be one of
those "POP before SMTP" methods though, not sure. As Glenn McC
mentioned, Arachne starting with version 1.75 handles Auth-SMTP
internally in CORE.EXE. Let's don't get him started on Insight
again, hehe!
(Yes, Glenn...I've known what Insight does for years...the same
as the old "MailMan"!!! By the way, I implemented similar type
of handling in MailWiz for NetMail DOS emails!!!)
