Yes, quite correct.

The 'fix' skips-over the leading space in sitations such-as those at
the redirect page.... but does not remove spaces from within URLs

Joe found referecne to this situation in the HTML specs.

According to that spec....
It looks like we need to also remove trailing spaces in addition to leading 
spaces.
