Probably. The GPS (Garmin etrex) claims that under ideal
conditions, it can attain 1 m accuracy, and velocity
accuracy to within .1 knot. (Elevation/altitude accuracy is
another thing all together... We're at ~6248 ft. according
to the USGS topo maps, but 6180 ft. according to the GPS,
and I note the spec sheet doesn't even mention elevation
accuracy.)
The above quoted "waypoint" was taken just outside the
roastery under open sky. I don't recall that I looked to
see what the accuracy was at the moment I marked it, but it
was certainly better out there than it is in here. Just
now, sitting at the computer desk, the accuracy is remaining
fairly constant betwen 14 ft. (>4 m) and 17 ft. (<6m).
Why own a GPS?
