Are you able to change the BIOS settings?  This is handled in a variety
of methods, such as pressing a key during a power-on start.  Some PCs
require some sort of "reference disk" that is inserted into the diskette
drive at power on (ie..my old IBM PS2, and my Compaq P75), for my Pentium
166 I press the Delete key at power on.  My old 486DX4, I pressed ESC.
Anyway, if you have the capability of altering the BIOS settings, should
be a simple matter of getting to the BIOS setup, then just choosing the
option to enable Sound Blaster mode.  May need to check with the board
manufacturer site, or the chipset site, for a BIOS Setup Utility.
