Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!

Jason,

If that is all, just removing the reference to Linux
in the group tagline, I can do that quite easily. I only
added Linux out of respect to the Linux users on the
list that DO run the Linux port of Arachne or run a more
current version in a DOS emulator. If the group wants
Linux out of the tagline, I'll remove it.

In regards to operating systems, I use DOS, Win9X,
Win2K, WinXP (at work) and Linux (limited, at work as
well). Each has strengths and weaknesses. The most
obvious differences, however, deal with hardware
"drivers" not being available for "current" technology.
USB, Firewire, etc are only minimally supported in
DOS, some in Win9X, Linux you write your own...if you
need/want "out of the box" usability, in the USA anyhow,
the user is pretty much tied into the more recent versions
of Microsoft's operating system, WinXP.
